PAT JOLLEY | HEAD COACH

The Regis University Department of Athletics is excited to announce the promotion of Pat Jolley from interim to Head Baseball Coach of the Rangers ahead of the 2024 season.

Jolley, who served as the Assistant Baseball Coach in 2023, becomes the 14th head coach in the program's history and brings nearly 20 years of coaching experience ranging from junior college, NCAA Division I and professional baseball.

"We conducted a national search that produced an amazing and impressive response to lead our Baseball program. Our desire to bring someone in who fully understood the university mission was of the highest priority," said Associate VP/Director of Athletics, Thomas Gilhooly. "Coach Jolly not only understands our mission, but is also able to demonstrate our 500-year-old Ignatian heritage by growing best in breed humans, one student-athlete at a time. He has the love and respect of not only his colleagues, but also his players, parents, and the entire Regis Community. We are blessed to call him Coach. He has my full support and faith that we will continue to see the rise of Regis University baseball as a destination for young men seeking to be the best version of themselves, on and off the diamond."

Jolley will take over as head coach following the departure of Drew LaComb, the 2022 RMAC Coach of the Year, after he accepted an assistant coach position at the Air Force Academy.

Serving as the Rangers' hitting coach and recruiting coordinator, the Regis baseball program enjoyed a historic season in 2023 as the team advanced to its first RMAC Tournament championship game since 2012 while setting program record in runs scored (517) and runs batted in (462), as well as top-5 in a number of additional categories that included total hits (611), on-base percentage (.433) and stolen bases (100).

The 31 wins by the Rangers in 2023 were also the fourth most in program history; just three wins shy of the school record of 34 set in 1991.

"I am grateful for this opportunity and I would like to thank Athletic Director, Tommy Gilhooly, for allowing me to lead such a proud program," Jolley said. "I believe that Regis offers a unique blend of outstanding academics, based on Jesuit values, and a growing and successful athletic department. I am excited to continue to build off what Coach LaComb did here and continue to move this program forward."

Prior to coming over to the Rangers in August of 2022, Jolley spent three years as the Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at the University of Northern Colorado; a NCAA Division I program in the Summit League.

Jolley has also spent eight years as an Associate Head Coach at Centenary College of Lousiana, which won four Southern Collegiate Conference Championships between 2013-2018. His baseball journey also includes a coaching stop at Bossier Parish Community College (2004-2010), where he helped send more than 50 players on to the Division I level and coached 10 MLB draft picks, as well the role of Associate Scout for the Pittsburg Pirates organization from 2008-2009.

As a player, Jolley began his career at Lassen Community College before finishing his career at Louisiana State University-Shreveport. He transferred to LSUS from Centenary College, where he was a 2003 First Team All-Independent selection as well as First Team All-Louisiana.

Jolley will now take the reins of an ascending Regis baseball program that is hunting its RMAC Championship and NCAA Division II regional appearance since 2012.

"The RMAC is a very good baseball conference and we will look to meet that challenge head on," Jolley said. "Our goal is to have a team of highly motivated individuals that are overachievers and those that are willing to do what it takes to be winners on and off the field."
